We love visiting Walden Pond during the summer. The water is cool and clean, the lifeguards are diligent, and the beach offers shaded areas. We also love the path around the pond (about a 1.5 mile loop), and fall and spring are the perfect times for a short hike. We come after school, and enjoy the walk, skipping rocks, and searching for beach treasures! Walden Pond is open year-round, and it's a great chance to learn more about Henry David Thoreau while you're there. There's a brand new visitor's center that's worth a look, too.
