On a recent rainy summer day, we ducked into the Central Branch of the Boston Public Library. We used a different door than usual to get out of the rain and stumbled upon The Norman B. Leventhal Map Center. Inside little nooks that looked out onto the courtyard were child sized chairs and lots of things to do all centered around maps. There were cleverly chosen picture books, puzzles, globes, and a fun booklet about learning to read maps of Boston. If you enjoyed The Magic of Maps, this is a great field trip to continue learning about mapping.
End your visit at the Map Room Cafe and, if it's not raining, get your food to go and eat in the beautiful courtyard.
