We love to get away in the summer! A favorite place of ours to go is Hingham. The downtown is adorable with lots of shops, a little movie theatre and plenty of ice cream. One place we visit quite a lot is Weir River Farm. It's a small farm with an idyllic setting, complete with a beautiful red barn and plenty of animals. It hosts many programs for families including a weekly story hour, open barnyard and many trails for exploring.
My kids adore hiking. We tend to stick to flat trails and Hingham's World's End is the perfect place to go. Not only are there miles and miles of trails, there is also a great rocky beach that is absolutely worth checking out on your hike.
Another fun spot in Hingham is the Hornstra Farm Dairy Bar. The farm delivers milk and other dairy products to many residents of Hingham and just opened a store and dairy bar. We tried the fresh butter on our corn and it was delicious. Plus, the kids were excited to meet the cows that produced the butter and ice cream that they were eating.
A great place to end your day is on the Hingham Bathing Beach. It's a small, picturesque spot a minute from the quaint downtown.
Let us know if you visit any of these places and what you think. And, if you have any other places to add to our list, please do!
