We are so often inspired by play. One afternoon, we explored the concept of balance at the Spaulding Playground in Charlestown on the seesaw. The kids wondered, "Would the seesaw balance differently if we sat diagonally across, rather than straight across from each other? They experimented and had a blast playing together.
When we got home, I pulled out our scale and pattern blocks and they experimented with balance.
The following week was rainy and we found ourselves at the Museum of Science, in their Science at the Park exhibit. This is a great indoor space to play when we can't be outside, and another opportunity to explore balance!
How have you brought playground experiences home? We'd love to hear!
