This week we focus on the simple act of choosing one toy to donate. No matter what holidays or traditions you celebrate, there is a good chance that new toys will start finding a way into your home. This is the perfect opportunity to donate a few things that aren't played with anymore. Two nearby charities that will gladly accept your toys are Room to Grow and Cradles to Crayons.
We chose to donate our balance bike to Room to Grow. My son was a little sad when we arrived, but felt better when he was told that the bike would be given to a child that same day and how special and exciting it was for the child to receive it. The entire staff is so thoughtful and supportive and the space they occupy is endearing and lovely, reminding us of a children's boutique. All of these elements create a wonderful environment to donate.
What do you do with items your family has outgrown? If you know of any other places in the city to donate children's toys or clothes, please let us know.
We now have some empty space in our home for new toys!
